What to Expect on Your First Visit

We want to help make this process as easy and wonderful as it can be. If you are coming to the office for the first time, your first visit will last less than an hour. We will review your history, perform an evaluation, and if necessary, refer you for x-rays. We will discuss how we can help you and offer you a customized chiropractic treatment plan based on your assessment.

Chiropractic Consultation

First, you will have a consultation with a doctor to discuss your health-related concerns, and potential chiropractic care plan options. This initial visit is designed for the doctors to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals.

Your First Chiropractic Examination

After your consultation, the doctor will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your spinal health. Some of the tests we utilize are:

> Flexion and lateral flexion adverse cord and connective tissue assessment
> Computerized postural assessments
> Facilitative pattern palpation
> Range of motion evaluation
> Weight-bearing test
> Motion palpation

Optional X-Rays

Depending on your specific condition, we may refer you for x-rays. X-rays can help us develop the most effective care plan for you and alert us of any serious spinal conditions. Most people are amazed once they see their x-rays up close. In some cases, they can even identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves.

We do not automatically x-ray every patient, but we ask that you bring any image studies done within the last five years.

Customized Care Plan

Once the information is collected and examinations are performed, you will be scheduled for a follow-up visit, usually within a week or as your schedule allows. During this follow-up visit, the doctor will give you a detailed report on your spine and answer questions like:

> How often do I need to come in?
> What will my care cost?
> Can you help me?

After reviewing your health history and examining your spine and X-rays, your doctor will discuss your recommended treatment and notify you if your condition requires care with other providers.

Payment Options

One of the things we have heard repeatedly in practice over the years is how valuable our affordable care becomes to the families that use our service. We have many payment options available and accept some forms of insurance, health savings plans, flexible spending accounts, and Visa/MasterCard/Discover/AMEX. Whether dealing with an immediate issue, wanting support in correcting an underlying spinal concern, or using our wellness service to maximize bodily performance, we have payment options that can work for you. Our helpful team will assist you with this process.

Receiving Care at Community Chiropractic

People in our office are amazed at how gentle and effective our adjustments feel. Some adjustments use the same amount of force that you would use to squeeze a tomato. Other adjustments require the use of an activator that provides exact vectors to correct nerve blockages. The chiropractic care in our office involves highly specialized training and is custom-tailored for each person. We offer care to newborn babies all the way up to our eldest patient, Dr. Pam’s 102-year-old grandmother, who loved to receive weekly adjustments.
